submitted by Lora 216 days ago (via whatisnew.com)
Last night Loren asked me to try out the next stage in his Silverlight Twitter images app. He wrote a little bit more about the process, what’s working so far and what still needs work.

New URL for Incremental Blogger - LorenHeiny.com
submitted by Lora 216 days ago (via whatisnew.com)
Over the weekend we set up a new location for Incremental Blogger at LorenHeiny.com. Comment spam on the old Movable Type blog was overwhelming, so Loren had turned off comments. Of course, comments are half the fun and conversation. So, a vanity domain registered, old blog posts from April 2003 to current exported, and then [...]

Fujitsu U1010 Review
submitted by MobilePC 216 days ago (via feeds.feedburner.com)
Greg Thom published an overview of the Fujitsu U1010.I was hugely impressed at being able to convert the standard PC interface (Windows Vista) into an ultra-compact tablet PC, a feature Fujitsu says is a first for a UMPC device. He also liked the screen. Yet, the keyboard was too cramped for typing in MS-Word.

HTC's Shift runs Vista (for 2 hours?) not Windows Mobile
submitted by Engadget 214 days ago (via engadget.com)
Filed under: Handhelds, Laptops, Tablet PCsHTC's Shift: runs Windows Mobile right, after all, it's an HTC device? Nope, Vista Business Edition. That Windows Mobile looking UI we've seen is HTC's "SnapVUE" shell, an advanced BIOS with support for some of the same applications you would see on a Windows Mobile device. So while you won't get voice capability or Windows Mobile Office, the Sideshow-lik

ASUS makes Eee UMPC, prices official
submitted by Layne 214 days ago (via electronista.com)
Though long familiar in the media, ASUS has only now made a formal announcement of the Eee, an ultra-mobile PC meant to be owned by casual users including women and children. Each unit has a screen measuring just seven inches, and users navigate mainly through a graphical interface, whose speed is enhanced due to a reliance on flash storage instead of a conventional hard disk.

REVIEW - Gigabyte U60 gets Tweaktown's best value award
submitted by UltraMobileLife 213 days ago (via feeds.ultramobilelife.com)
I just saw this review of the Gigabyte U60 UMPC over at Tweaktown and they had a lot of positive things to say about the device. Their monster seven part review pores over every detail of the U60 and they even put it through a battery life test, the results are quite impressive:After letting it run for 45 minutes, you can see that there is a steady and consistent discharge rate, and based on the a

VIDEO - Engadget's Peter Rojas talks TabletKiosk eo UMPC
submitted by UltraMobileLife 213 days ago (via feeds.ultramobilelife.com)
I just ran across this video hiding over on the TabletKiosk site and couldn't believe my eyes. That's Peter Rojas from Engadget doing a product introduction for the TabletKiosk eo UMPC v7110 on HGTV! Personally I think it's kickin' rad that Peter did that. I think this video actually came out quite a while ago, but this is the first time I've seen it. I'll put a copy of it up on YouTube if someone

Export Your Drivers Across PCs
submitted by GottaBeMobile 213 days ago (via feeds.feedburner.com)
When you are setting up a new Tablet PC or UMPC one of the things on your check list is to make sure you have all of your drivers moved to the new device. This little utility, DriverMax, might just be the cool tool you need to make that chore a little easier. DriverMax lets you export all (or those you choose) of the drivers on your XP or Vista system to a folder or compressed file. Once you&rsqu

The Wayback File: Peter Rojas checks out the TabletKiosk eo UMPC
submitted by GottaBeMobile 213 days ago (via feeds.feedburner.com)
Like Bjorn said this morning, I haven't ever seen this video of Peter Rojas, of Engadget fame, taking a look at the TabletKiosk eo.  It looks like he did a spot on HGTV when the UMPC was just being released.  I like the comment made in the video "Thinner, Lighter and more powerful devices with better battery life are due out soon".  Humm - I know we have made some progress in some of the
